More than 250 people from Barnet and surrounding areas had a Valentine’s to remember on Thursday 14 February.
Social care organisation Your Choice Barnet organised the borough’s first ever Valentine’s Ball dedicated to people with disabilities, as part of their commitment to promoting independence.
Guests enjoyed a red carpet and champagne reception, live music from Lisa Lee and Holly Hanley, a disco and a raffle to celebrate the organisation’s first birthday.
Your Choice Barnet’s Director of Operations, Amanda Jackson, said: “This was bigger and better than anything we have seen in Barnet for people with learning disabilities before, so we’re delighted that we received such overwhelming support for the event. It’s important to us that disabled people can go out to have fun and enjoy their local facilities.
“It’s fantastic that more than 250 people came to the event and took away some great memories from the ball. People have already asked when the next big night will be? We look forward to organising similar events in future.”
A slideshow of the event is now available to view online.
