On 9 August 2013 the 28 day consultation process with parents and carers of Valley Way service users ended. This consultation concerned Your Choice Barnet’s recommendation to replace two waking night staff with one waking night staff and one sleep-in staff.
The Board has now considered the outcomes from the consultation. It has also taken into account the views of commissioners of Valley Way services and has made the following decisions:
- to proceed with the replacement of two waking night staff with one waking night staff and one sleep-in staff
- that at busy periods such as weekends two waking night staff will be on duty if judged necessary
- to implement Assist technology at Valley Way in order to provide a checking device for waking night staff.
