Rosa Morison staff alongside volunteers from Barnet Homes took part in a special ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me of Here’ style fundraising event on 14 Dec to raise money for the sensory floor.
Your Choice Barnet staff Helen Young, Marlene Hunter and Edward Adu plus Stephen Pugh, an Operations Manager for Barnet Homes were sponsored by staff to do a series of Rosa Morison Bush Tucker Trials. Plus a ‘grunting quiz’!
Helen and Marlene had to ‘dive’ for stars in six trays that were filled with delightful ingredients such as tuna sauce and jelly, custard mixed with mealy worms and fish heads.
Stephen and Edward had to endure a five-course meal which included wild-ant hors d’oeuvres, critter pizza and chocolate-dipped locusts – all washed down with a tuna and mealy-worm ‘smoothie’.
The four contestants’ then had to do a Bush Tucker quiz, which involved making animal noises and then answering a question correctly. If they got an answer wrong, disgusting oozing buckets of slug/spaghetti slime was poured all over them.
Barnet Homes’ Operations Manager Stephen Pugh was crowned King of the Rosa Morison Bush Tucker Trials.
All proceeds raised will go towards the interactive sensory floor, which will particularly benefit service users who need to be assisted to walk or take steps.
So far over £300 has been raised towards the interactive sensory floor. If you’d like to donate, please contact Richard Buckman, Manager, on 020 8359 3500 or Richard.buckman@rosamorison.org
