Service users at Rosa Morison were recently treated to a visit from a cheeky meerkat and a friendly ‘lionhead’ rabbit.

Zoo4U is a family run company who is passionate about animals and wants to help people how to learn to handle animals. Samantha Knapp (pictured with a very easy going snake), one of Zoo4U’s founders, takes her band of ‘unusual’ animals into schools and other organisations.

At Rosa Morison, many of the service users have complex learning and physical disabilities – often wheelchair bound, so they greeted the visit from Zoo4U with much curiosity.

Service users got to touch a varied group of animals from a snake to Mika the friendly meerkat and then an extremely fluffy lion-haired rabbit.

This was the third year of Zoo4U coming to Rosa Morison to bring a petting zoo experience to service users.

The experience of handling and stroking the assorted collection of friendly animals from Zoo4u is an important part of expanding their sensory-based understanding of the world.
