Location
Ansell Court located in Mill Hill, on the corner of Pursley Road and Milespit Hill, is close to local shops and amenities, including GP surgeries, health clinics and leisure facilities.
What is Extra Care?
Extra care housing is designed primarily for frailer older people and some younger people with disabilities. The aim is to maximise independence and choice for residents and it is a popular alternative to residential care. Tenants have their own self-contained flat and security of tenure, renting via assured tenancy.

Ansell Court is a dementia-friendly extra care scheme consisting of 53 one and two-bedroomed flats and communal facilities including:
Shared lounge
The shared lounge is situated opposite the reception area and is for tenant’s use, there is an area for making tea and coffee and the patio doors lead out to the shared garden.
Café
This is for tenants and their family and friends to use, there will also be times when community groups use this area. Community groups will be invited to Ansell Court from time to time to provide activities for tenants and non-tenants. There is a seating area outside the café for when the weather allows.
Private dining room
Situated next door to the cafe, this area offers a small private space to eat, the double doors can be opened to increase the space for larger gatherings.
Reading room
A quiet space for tenants to sit, this room has sliding doors leading into the private dining room and these rooms can be used to together or be separated.
Activity room & Hairdressers salon
There will be a notice outside the activity room each day to let the tenants know what will be arranged in the room for that day, tenants will be supported to book their hairdressers appointment and when the hairdresser is not in the bi-fold doors will be closed to avoid any confusion. There is a door in the activity room that leads directly out into the garden.
Laundry room
Located on the first floor, turn left out toward the back of the lift shaft then turn right. There are two commercial washing machines and two tumble dryers. The use of the machines can be booked at the reception area and staff support will be provided where required.
Assisted Bathroom
Located on the second floor, turn left out toward the back of the lift shaft then turn right. This is the only bath in the building as the flats all have level access showers. The bathroom can be booked at the reception area and staff support will be provided where required.
Guest Suite
Located on the third floor, straight ahead out of the lift and on the right. Relatives may book this room and can stay for up to 7 nights, there is a nightly fee payable for this room, enquiries should be made at reception.
Gardens
There are two shared gardens, one has a potting shed, seating and is accessible from the ground floor flats, activity room and lounge. The second has raised beds and is accessible from the ground floor corridor and the flats that face it.
Ansell Court Staff
The care and support service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and there is a Registered Service Manager who manages the care team.
The housing management is the responsibility of Barnet Homes and there is a caretaker in post who carries out the day to day housing support.
